John Q. Stranahan II

John Stranahan is an associate practicing in the firm’s real estate and litigation groups. Prior to joining CF+W in 2018, John was employed by a small law firm in the Pittsburgh area where he practiced in the areas of real estate and municipal law. He also previously served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Christopher J. St. John of the Mercer County Court of Common Pleas.

In the course of his practice, John has successfully represented clients in a variety of matters in Pennsylvania state courts and before zoning hearing boards. He has counseled clients relating to a broad range of real estate and litigation matters with an emphasis on zoning and land development, commercial and estate litigation matters, and real estate transactions.

He obtained his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Prior to law school, he obtained a B.A. from the University of Virginia.

On a personal note, John was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania, and he is a fifth generation attorney whose family has practiced law in the Western Pennsylvania area since the 1860s. When he is not working, John enjoys exercising, golfing and traveling.
